Aqua Couture ... a girls "best kept secret"

Aqua Couture was established in 1999 in Kingston Upon Hull. The aim of the boutique wato support independent designers in the North.

Aqua built a close working relationship with James Steward and Lisa Dann. The combination of the young designers talent and enthusiasm, teamed with Aqua’s desire to provide customers with individual garments that make a statement, resulted in a huge success for both parties.

In 2000 Aqua Couture opened its flagship store in the Corn Xchange in Leeds. In no time Aqua Couture was dressing the majority of girls in Leeds and neighbouring cities in the most highly fashionable and individual pieces. To their customers Aqua was known as their “best kept secret”.

Like all good things, the secret got out. The increasing customer data base, as well as the addition of many sought after labels wanting to stock to Aqua, has resulted in a relocation of the Leeds branch. Located in the Victorian Quarter, known as the “Knightsbridge of North”, Aqua is set to open its doors to a new concept of shopping. Over three beautiful floors, customers will be able to choose from designs by independent designers and exquisite labels such as Robert Cary Williams, Unconditional and Fornarina.

Beyond this, customers will have the privilege of choosing from designs by James Steward, beautiful hand printed fabrics by Maria Franco and having pieces made to measure making them extra special to the customer.

Men will also be able to enjoy the new store as Aqua launches their men’s floor. Carrying labels Unconditional, Robert Cary Williams, Kast, Blood & Glitter, Buddhist Punk and Eyedentity, men will be able to find their individuality.
